My heart goes out to you, your family & Everyone who had to experience Ike first hand. Know that you All are in my Prayers and I was worried all weekend about you & your family. I thank the Lord Jeremy that you & your family are safe.
Remember - material things can Be Replaced. People Can Not, nor can our Health.
Bless you & your family, especially your Grandfather I am sorry to hear about his cancer. Always in my prayers.
Hey Jeremy,
Like everyone else, my heart goes out to you and your neighbors. I do have some advice for you in this crazy time of your life and I hope you don’t mind me giving it to you.
First, this is overwhelming…so take just a tiny piece of the situation and focus your energies on that ONE piece. If you break down the enormity of the situation into small manageable pieces you’ll be able to function that much easier.
Try not to get yourself gobbled up in the BIG picture or you’ll feel helpless. Celebrate the small accomplishments without feeling bad about doing so. If you can find some satisfaction in completing a task share it. The people around you will feel like what they’re doing is making a difference too.
Good Luck and keep your chin up, you can convince yourself to feel better each day to come. Love you buddy!
I’m so sorry for your loss and everyone’s down there. I have good friends that live in SeaBrook and they lost alot too. There should be aid there for yaw I can’t imagine why there isn’t sorry for that too.
Keep being strong! Texas has a good sense of community and before long things will be back and you’ll be fishing againing, it will happen I know its hard to think that today but it will!
Our prayers are with yaw and if there is a way for us to help from up here let us know! Don’t give up now your voice is needed so people know what is truly going on down there.
Newman- Been there done that 5 years ago in Florida after 3 hurricanes in 6 weeks, and lost everthing I had. But it made a stronger man in the end. OH where was FEMA then? My prayers are with you all.
Jeremy, You and your family are in my prayers. I am so sorry you are having to go through this. I was listening to you this morning and the raw emotion in your voice when you were talking about your neighbor putting up the flags. You are very strong and we are all proud of you. You will get through this. That which does not kills us makes us stronger….God Speed. We love you.
Newman… first off Im wishing you tons of help soon. My heart goes out to you and all your neighboring communities that are affected by Ike.
Second, if you remember me (I won an item a few years ago, and when you asked me what celebrity I looked like, I said on air that I looked like Brittney Spears, yea right!) anyways, Ive always wanted to thank you (and wbee) for working their technology magic and having you on air from Texas. I was sad to hear you were leaving, then happy to hear we would still have you here (by voice anyway!) Take care, and hang in there!
Please know that everyone in Rochester who listens to you every morning on the BEE is praying for you, your family and everyone else in your community. I know it is hard now, but take each day one step at a time and remember that God will watch over you.
You have spectacular friends at the BEE and they are there to help you through this. Keep strong because you are an amazing person and I know you will be there for everyone in your community.
Try not to take the world on your shoulders because if you do it will overwhelm you. Take one step at a time.
Jeremy I love people that make me laugh ,and you do. I have four kids that are about your age and they really make me laugh. They are spread out across the Eastern half of the us so our communications are cell phones and a few visits.Having gone through a bad divorce almost 20 years ago I realize that family is the most important thing for us and I’m glad you didn’t lose yours.I never lost my children but everything else financial I did.My family was always there for me. You have a big one here in Rochester. We are there for you and yours. Annie was right, the sun will shine tomorrow ,and you will be a better, stronger person from all of this.
Keep working it helps reduce the pain of what you are going through right now.
My heartfelt thoughts are with you and all of those around you.You are a BIG part of our family in upstate and we all hope that you get some rest and take little steps and you will come through this difficult time. You are in my thoughts and prayers..
Jeremy - Please know that I am praying for you and your family and all the families that have suffered as a result of this tragedy. Hang in there, pray and take care of yourself and family.
God Bless You.
First I want to thank god that you and your family are safe and well. You had a guardian angel on your shoulder who is looking over you to protect you and get you thru this devastating time in your life. It all seems so overwhelming now but in time you will realize that you will survive this tragedy and become stronger because of it. I know your family is worried about you as well as the rest of the WBEE family in New York but everything will work out in the long run. When my mother was killed by my father I thought my life would end. But talking about it to my family and friends I was able to get my feelings out and not keep things bottled up inside where they could fester and come out in a bad way. People would ask me how I dealt with things, I told them I just live minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day and so on and now it has been 20 years since my mom died. After you are back on your feet, this memory will dull, you will never forget it, but life goes on and you need to enjoy every minute you can while in this world. God is looking out for you and if there is anything you need, even if it is a hug, just ask. Everyone here is hugging you now and hope for only the best for you. Take care and we love and care for you with all our heart and soul.
I kept tabs on you over the weekend as best I could (seeing and hearing you on the TV news casts and such), but I had company here from out of state and missed the aftermath parts. This morning was the first I heard you on the radio since the storm and my heart just aches for you. You are always the one who brightens my day and makes me laugh each and every day on my ride to work, and I hope you know how much this community and the Rochester listeners hold you and your talents near and dear to them. Listening to you this morning made me long to be able to repay you somehow for all the sunshine you have brought to my days since you’ve been on the BMCC. There will be brighter days ahead for you, my friend. Just take it one step at a time, one day at a time. We love you, and we’re praying for you and your family, and we know that you’ll get through this and be stronger for having done so. Take care and God bless - thank heaven you’re all okay.
Been thinking of you and your family since I watched your “before blog”. I have also been praying for you. You, Terri and Steve helped me through a long depression by making me laugh out loud every morning…what a gift you are. There are people who are stong of heart and spirit who can survive things others can’t…you are one of those people..God will continue to bless you..be strong and have faith. Many blessing will come your way.
Peace.
Newman,
You are a rock! You want us to donate to the Red Cross so that we can help your friends and neighbors. What an awesome thing to do. I just made my donation in your honor. Yes, you are strong even though you don’t think you are. God only gives us what we can handle. Some days I wish he didn’t count on us so much! I’m prayin for you and your community - keep up your faith and the help will be there for you.

just a quick note to tell you i still keep you’all in my thoughts…i used to live in rochester last year and i keep in touch with you via blogs etc… you, terri and steve have been such a good time in the morning i wish i could understand my computer better to still listen to you’all in north carolina……glad you are safe …bless you and your family…
Dear Jeremy…This is Gma MaryAnne from Irondequoit who just happened to pick 9/4-9/16 to come and visit my daughter, and grandchildren in Texas..Spring, in Harris County to be exact about 45-60min drive NW from Houston…I just got back today and called the station this am to find out how you were. I was relieved to hear you all made it thru but I can feel so real your losses…albeit material. It’s such a complete “taking and tossing” as it seemed Ike did..came in with the winds unlike any to date but also seemed like the wind had claws that just grabbed anything and everything in his path and tossed it to the winds. We did not have to evacuate and all of my family too are alive and well and functioning with the help of a generator but lost only their fence and some trees so for that I am so grateful but as I listened to the daily news on my little IPOD..one of the Houston stations that was on 24/7 and then saw some of the devastation on the news..it just made you shudder and say a few more prayers. You have been in mine and all of the citizens there have been since we started the preparations for IKE on Thurs afternoon..and I too will be coontributing to the Red Cross in thanksgiving and in your honor. As so many have said just take it an itty bitty piece at a time and try to feel good about something and it will halp y ou face the next piece. I will be remembering you all and keeping you in my prayers. Remember now, I said I came down on 9/4..so have been away from WBEE for some time now…please tell me you have either still got the Lady love’s ring or that you have popped the question and she has it?….Just a little happier note I hope…Do take care Jeremy, and I am so very grateful that you will still be around with all of y ou quick wit, humor and everything…you do so much for so many just beiing on the air.
Newman,
Just wanted to let you know that
I am so happy to hear that you and
your family are all safe. My heart
goes out to all of you!
Be strong & remember that your extended
family here in Rochester are here for
you.
We miss you very much!
Newman, I csn’t believe this has happened to you but you have an amazing strength and fight in you. Eventually, things will get back to “normal”. My husband and I love listening to you on the radio in the morning. You have an amazing spirit. Don’t let anyone tell you differently. Nothing, not even Hurricane Ike, can take this away from you.
Newman, its Katie again because I hit the submit button too early. I just wanted to say that you and your family were in our thoughts and prayers. Stay strong and continue doing what you love best being on the radio with the coolest people in the world. You guys make me laugh every morning. Stay safe and we are all thinking about you.
I can’t believe that Newman doesn’t have insurance!!
WBEE doesn’t offer him or his co-workers any insurance? I feel really bad for you man. You have a good heart, stay upbeat as possible!!!! God Bless you and your family!!
If you’re referring to Renters Insurance - WBEE has nothing to do with it - it is up to the individual. My heart goes out to Jeemy - but at least he and his family are alive - things can be replaced - life can not.
Hi Jeremy,
This is your friend Betty. I’m so glad you are heading back to Rochester. We may have snow, but not the stuff you suffered from in Texas. Know that you are loved by many here in Rochester. I have a huge 4 bedroom home that you are always welcome to stay at - a warm meal when you need it - a friend to talk to - and a church family that is beyond your dreams. Know that you, your family and the thousands of people in Texas are in our prayers. You have been an outstanding advocate for the Red Cross. Thanks to you, so many are being helped. It’s your unselfish heart and compassion for others that makes you an outstanding humanitarian. We are so blessed to have you with WBEE. I’ll stay in touch and continue to support the efforts of the Red Cross in your name.
