    Hey Newman,

Happy that you are alright. Material things can be replaced, even though it is hard and expensive. I am sorry for all of you who have lost everything, but at least you are still here and that we are grateful for. When you first started at the Bee, I thought no one could replace our dear Bill Coffey, I was wrong and I am sure he is looking down from Heaven and saying the same thing. I wish you and the state of Texas only the best. If there is anything that your Bee fans can do, let us know on air and I am sure you will see how your country fans will take care of you. Take Care.

Newman, I am so sorry about your home, but the important thing is that you got out and you are well. I wish you well in your clean up and recovery and know that you are and have been in the thoughts and prayers of so many loyal fans in the Rochester area who live vicariously through your show every morning!

I listen to the BMCC every morning on my way to work from Webster to Auburn Memorial Hospital and I have come to feel very connected to you and the rest of the crew. I’m sure that you have received many good wishes from your listeners, and I’d like to add my thoughts. Our thoughts are with you and your family. We have waited anxiously to hear that you were OK. While I know this is a devastating event, everything that happens in our lives helps us grow so that we can endure future challenges. We all meet our challenges in our own ways, and keeping your humor is the first step to recovering. Don’t appologize for being yourself, ever. Our prayers are with you and I know that the community of listeners that you have will be there for you as you work to recover from this horrific event. God bless you and keep you and your family during this difficult time. Be safe. Jen Kent

Newman, I have been praying for you this whole weekend for your safety, and for the safety of your home. Please remember that your home can be repaired and things can be replaced - but lives cannot. I am so glad you got out when you could, and I’m so glad that you’ve kept your listeners updated.

I too have been going through a rough time, and I wish to leave you with this: You have the ability to get through this with the power of Jesus. I cant remember exactly which chaper thats in, and the exact words, but that strikes home. My prayers are still with you, your family and your neighbors. God bless.

So I’ve been listening to the Bee Mon-Fri mornings since I moved to Rochester. And always delighted to hear you all. You make my days start good. This past week I’ve been listening to your updates on what’s going on with the storm. I didn’t get an update about how you were and have been dying to get online to see if you had a blog. In which you did, thanks. I’m glad to hear you are physically okay and it seems like you still have your sense of humor! Sorry to hear about your house. Let Rochester know what we can do to help! Look forward to hearing you on the radio in the morning if you’re there!

    Take care.

  35. Eileen Says:

My heart just broke to see the devestation in your neighborhood and throughout the Gulf coast. I lived through several hurricanes on Long Island…hang in there and things WILL get better. You and your family are safe and that is the most important thing. My prayers are with you and all the people who have been touched by this storm. Be safe and take care.

  36. Sarah, Scott and Mackenzie Says:

We truly are sorry! We love to hear your voice in the mornings- you start our day off the right way! Best wishes and good luck!

  37. Kathy Says:

Hi Newman - So thankful to hear that you and your family are safe. I appreciated the time you took to video the after effects of the hurricane. It was truly devastating. I’m thinking and praying for you and want to help in anyway I can. I want to ‘give back’ for all the joy you bring into our lives each day. Your wit is so clever and creative. We never know what to expect. I look forward each morning to my daily dose of laughter that you provide, along with Terry, Steve, and Jackson. Just keep being Jeremy! :)

  38. Lynda Says:

    Jeremy,
First of all, our prayers go to you, and your family.
I have family in Pearland, TX. They as well are cleaning up, but are still with us.
Its heart wrenching what you are all going thru. Just remember, your Rochester family is here for you and all the people of Texas that are going thru this mess.
    God bless you all.

  39. Liz Says:

    Newman-
I’m so sorry for this tough time you are facing! I know that you are always cracking wise, and that can always help keep everyone from really seeing how tough things are- but we’ll still love you even if you aren’t funny for a few days (but not more than 3 or else :) ) and we all want to support you in any way we can. I have a sofa and loveseat in my front room with your name on them!! And I’m sure I can sneak a few of my hubby’s fishing poles out for you too. Please let the bmcc family, and your blood family help you, even when its hard to admit you need it! We are all thinking of and praying for you- though it won’t bring your stuff back, I truly hope that knowing we are just waiting to help can bring you some kind of comfort!

  40. Naomi Says:

We are all thinking about you and will do anything we can to help! GOD bless you, Newman! we are thinking about you, and praying for you and your family! keep your chin up!

  41. April Says:

Newman, I am not really sure what to say. Been following this story every day hoping for the best for you. Just know that you have touched more lives then you know and I hope if you need anything you know all you have to do is swallow pride and say it. I am glad your ok physically and I don’t pray that much, but I’m praying for that you will have the strength you need to rebuild and carry on.

  42. Jeanne Says:

Newman, So sorry for what you are going through. The only way you can put things in perspective is to thank God you and your family are safe. And as terrible as it is to lose everything you own, they are just THINGS, that can be replaced.
Devastation we learn as we get older, is when you lose a family member who can’t be replaced. That’s when we struggle to recover from a devastated life. Just remember, we love ya here in Rochester. God Bless you.
    Jeanne

  43. Joe Menear Says:

Hi Newman, this is Joe, the gnome door guy. I just want you to know that you & your family are in our hearts & prayers. We thank God that you all well. I know it will be a long road to recovery for everyone in Texas who lost everything but thank God your still with us. As I said earlier, it’s okay to be angry, as long as you put it to good use. It’s great you have such a wonderful sense of humor. Keep the faith man.If you ever want to talk send me an e-mail.

All our best to you & yours, Joe & Shirley

  44. Nicole Says:

    THE BENEFIT OF OBSTACLES
A wise philosopher once commented that an eagle’s only obstacle to flying with speed
and ease is the air. Yet, if the air was withdrawn and the proud bird were to fly
in a vacuum, it would fall instantly to the ground, unable to fly at all. The very
element that offers the resistance to flying is at the same time the condition of
    flight.
The main obstacle that a powerboat has to overcome is the water against the propeller,
yet if it were not for this same resistance, the boat would not move at all.
The same law — that obstacles are conditions of success — holds true in human
life. A life free of all obstacles and difficulties would reduce all possibilities
and powers to zero. Obstacles wake us up and lead us to use our abilities. Exertion
gives us new power. So, out of our difficulties new strength is born.
What possibilities and powers are waiting in your obstacles? To achieve success
means looking for the obstacles that wake up the powers within YOU!

  45. Theresa Says:

Newman, I am speechless, it is terrible that you had to experience this, however I’m so glad you are ok. I remember growing up my mom used to tell us if there was ever a fire just get out of the house asap…because we can always get new “stuff” but we can not get a new YOU. I believe this to be true with you, and all of the other suffering families. We all love and hope the best for you.

  46. Anna Says:

I just wanted to let you know that our prayers are will you in your time of need. We are all thinking of you.

  47. Jenn Says:

    Newman,

Our thoughts are prayers are with you from Buffalo, NY!

    God Bless,
    Jon & Jennifer

  48. Colleen Says:

OMG! My thoughts are with you, your family, and all those devestated by this storm. I was listening to you this morning and my heart was going out to you, because you do have friends in rochester and they are your listeners. You don’t know us by face, but you come in our homes everyday and make us laugh. Keep the hope alive!

  49. Patty H. Says:

I have to agree with Pam. I was unbelievably saddened when Bill Coffey passed away. Until then, I didn’t realize what an important part of our daily lives a “stranger” could be. I was almost resentful when the station thought a smart alec kid could fill Bill’s shoes. Well, Bill’s shoes are his own, but you have definitely opened our hearts and made your own place in our lives. I so enjoy listening to all of you in the morning. I’m also glad that you don’t know me so that I don’t have to be the butt of your jokes:) We would all love to help you rebuild your home so that it is even better than before the storm.

When I got up this morning and opened the blinds I saw that our gazebo with canopy was twisted in knots and a large tree had fallen down. Because of you, I didn’t dare complain but said, “it could have been worse.”

I’ll bet that many more people will be helped through the Red Cross because of your unselfishness. Thanks for taking the time to come to work today.

  50. Cheryl Says:

Newman, I am sorry for your lose but I know it is replaced but you can’t be. I was very happy to hear that you decided to leave in order to be safe. You and every other human being in this world are not replaceable but material things are so it’s better to lose them and be safe which is what you did. God bless and your in my prayers as well as everyone else there in Texas that was hit by Ike. We love you and wish you well.

  51. Laura Says:

“Life is 10% what you make it and 90% how you take it”–Irving Berlin

I’m sure you are being tested now but you’re ALIVE and that is the most important thing! Stay safe & good luck

  52. Pam Says:

    Dear Jeremy,

I am so sorry what you have had to endure the last few days, I wish there was an explanation for why these things happen especially when some people have so little to begin with and then to lose it all. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and I am grateful you are all alright physically. Emotionally - I cannot say I know how you feel, but I do know all of the WBEE listeners care and feel like you are part of our family. If there is anything we can do you just say the word. Where can you send you stuff - to the station? Let us know what you need. Love ya Newman!!!!

  53. Lynda Says:

HOW WE CAN HELP NEWMAN… He wants us to donate to the red cross, ok, ok, will do. BUT I STILL WANT TO HELP NEWMAN. What if anyone who wrote “what can I do man?”, “whatever you need man?” SENT a $25 gift certificate to the station, or his grandma’s house? Home Depot, Target, Walmart? He’ll need cleaning supplies, new sheets, new pillows, new socks. AND HE CAN SHARE WITH NEIGHBORS TOO. Let us help you too.

  54. Debbie Guile Says:

We have all been thinking of you and am really glad that everyone is okay. Our prayers are with you and your family. Remember things can be replaced but life can not. We will keep you in our prayers. My mother always said “God doesn’t give you anything that you can not handle!!!!!”

We hope the best for you.

  55. Wendy Says:

    Newman,
So glad to hear that you and your family are ok. Please just let us know what you need, I know everyone in your hometown here in Rochester are just waiting to help you out.

  56. Kathy Says:

Jeremy, I am so sorry to what has happened to your home. I missed most of the morning show today, as we lost power last night and still do not have it back yet. I am just glad that YOU are alright. Even though we really don’t know each other, I feel like I have known you all my life. I have been watching and listening to all of the local channels just to make sure you and your family were ok. Take care and know that you have many friends that are willing to help you and your family.

  57. Gregg LaForce Says:

Alanna and I are so sorry to hear about your home.
We’re both glad to see that you remained unharmed.
I’m sure that if Entercom chooses to do something for you and your family, we will be there for you all. Our thoughts are with you. Stay strong partner!

  58. Tara Says:

Someone once said that material can be replaced but people can’t…you have to be thankful that you’re alive and your family as well. I also received the storm.. not as bad just some trees down and no power. some people will not get power for weeks..

stay safe and don’t be afraid to so emotions.

    god bless

  59. Joanne Mabb Says:

    Newman,
Know that our prayers are with you and all the people in Texas that are misplaced. What can we do to help.
    Joanne Mabb Rochester, NY

  60. Linda Says:

    Newman,
You and your family have our deepest thoughts with you in this time of need.
I have given a donation to the red cross and find that it sounded so like something you would do. I hope that everything works out for you. I listen every morning and wish you nothing but the best.
    God Bless
    Linda

  61. Christa Says:

Listeners from Geneseo love you too. We’re keeping you in our thoughts & glad to know that everyone is physically ok. Take care! Now it’s our turn to make you laugh & smile.

  62. Dan Says:

    Hi Newman:

I am not sure if there is anything left to say. I listened to the podcast from this morning where you were saying that we brought you through some very dark times in your life. Well buddy I would like to say that you have returned the favor tenfold with me and I am sure other WBEE listeners as well. I have listened from the time you were on at night. Nights used to be the worst for me. Even at my darkest time I knew I could turn you on and you would be doing something off the wall that would put a smile on my face when I thought it would be impossible to ever smile again. And when you came on te morning show to fill some amazingly huge shoes. I knew you felt that it was probably a very daunting task to replace someone like Bill, But let me tell you I am sure Bill is looking down today and smiling at what you have done. You will get through this and even though it is cliche we are here for you and I am sure that I speak for many other listeners in saying we will do anything that we can do to help you through this. Thanks for being who you are to us. Oh yeah one more thought… This would be a great time to get Newmerica off the ground!!!! Dan :)_

  63. Cathy Says:

Dear Newman Just want you to know We are glad you and your family are safe. Our prayers are with you.God Bless and Keep his arms around you.

  64. Liz Says:

Newman, my heart aches for you..I was glued to the tv all weekend, watching the hurricane unfold, praying for you and your family. When you were on the radio this morning, I cried with you as I listened to you talk. I wake up every day and turn on WBEE, I love listening to the 3 of you, you make me smile and laugh. This morning was different, I couldnt wait to turn on the radio to hear YOUR voice, to know you were okay. Hearing your story, listening to you get choked up and teary, those were real emotions. We all feel your pain, you have an entire radio family here in Rochester that have their arms wrapped around you, trying to help you feel safe. Hang in there. Remember THAT WHICH DOESNT KILL US, MAKES US STRONGER…You are such a special person, we love you Jeremy….

  65. darcy Says:

  66. LYNDA LUCKENBACH Says:

Jeremy, I am so sorry for what you have been thru these past few days with the storm. Hang in there, guy. Tough times do not last BUT tough people do. Things can be replaced. You have your life and your family are all safe. God will give it all back and more. God Bless you and your family. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. I wish I could be there to help clean up and rebuild. :-)

  67. Maggie Says:

I wish I could make it all better. A big hug and all would be back to normal, but I can’t. I pray for you and all the victims and hope you get out of this funk soon. I cry everyday along with you. God bless you.

  68. Sandy Says:

    Newman
I know that with all the happiness and good times you bring to all of us each day, that God will bring you happiness and good times again! My heart ached listening to you today. You sounded so tired and frustrated. Please know that your listeners are praying for you and yours. Help IS coming. Hang in there. God Bless!

  69. Janet Says:

Newman, Though a lot have already said it, hang in there, and try and see a bright side to this,,, at least you and your family are all safe. My heart aches for you and I was crying right with you. You’re a HUGE part of a lot of peoples lives and we all wish we could lend a hand to all you’re doing. Time moves on and all will be well. Stay safe and all the best to you, your family and neighbors.

  70. Tawny Rae Says:

Everytime I listen in, I instantly begin crying with you… You are soo strong, and sooo uplifting and probably one of the least deserving people of this… but somehow I know you will come out even more strong. You keep us all feeling so close to you every morning on the bee, with all of your stories and great humor and great personality. I know you have heard it a million times, but I am proud of you, and thinking, and praying for you and all of those around you, every single day. xo Thanks for taking the time to update all of us on this, and truly expressing to us what is happening…
